Taking cosmopolitanism seriously

Author and political theorist Lea Ypi, filmmaker Katie Barlow, and musician and composer Joseph Tawadros on urgent questions of justice in our interconnected world

What do we owe to distant strangers? For cosmopolitans, who think of themselves as citizens of the world, this is a pressing question. How does justice operate from a global perspective? What duties do nation-states have to worldwide notions of fairness and equality? This evening, ponder these urgent ethical and political questions, and explore what it really means to be a cosmopolitan.
